Why You Need to Take This Class…

If I hear it once, I hear it a million times: cooking is hard. There’s all the prep and the washing and slicing and dicing and pots and pans to clean.

Cooking should be as natural to us as brushing our teeth and just as essential. It’s a life skill that ensures you have the strength and vitality to move strongly through this adventure we call life. Hard? Cooking? Having ill health is hard.

I am always amazed that people think caring for their health and well-being is hard. This body that we inhabit is the only one we get and yet, we treat it as disposable. Look, I am not a ‘your body is a temple’ purist, but if we don’t care for this organism we call home, what do we have really?

Time to rethink cooking; get back in the kitchen and take care of the only body we get in this life.

Who Should Take This Class?

If you’re great at cooking, this class is for you.

If you’re new to cooking, this class is for you.

If you’re interested in health and discovering the power of food in your life, this class is for you.

If you hate cooking, this class is definitely for you.

..bottom line…this class is for you!

The Class…

For two days, we will explore the world of healthy eating from my perspective, that of macrobiotics and Chinese Medicine.

We begin on Saturday morning with a demo class (after coffee, tea and biscotti) so you begin to immerse yourself in the thinking,

After lunch, which we will have prepared during the demo class, we will put on our aprons and get to work. From soups to desserts, the next 3 sessions (Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon), you’ll cook, cook and cook some more under the guidance of my assistants, Robert and me.

Oh, and we will teach you how to sharpen your knives at home so your knife is as sharp as your skills.

What You Will Need…

  • A Chef Knife
  • A paring knife
  • Wooden spoons for cooking
  • Measuring cups and spoons that you like
  • Any tool you love

Note: The school uses plastic cutting boards (the law in PA). If you wish to use wood, please bring a cutting board you can use. Otherwise the plastic boards will do just fine.
